Orbost Exhibition Centre On The Snowyriver Inc
AGM Report Presented the Concerned Artists Resisting Extinction (CARE) exhibition & associated public events with artists and ecologists between July and December 2021. We were one of 5 galleries across East Gippsland that presented this vitally important exhibition the vision and sweat of the amazing Dawn Stubbs! (review tabled) Presented the Australian Wood Design Exhibition (AWDE) from March to June 2022. This was also a huge success with over 3000 visitors, many of whom return regularly to this now biannual flagship exhibition of the Centre. Redeveloped and enhanced our Mission Statement Created Policies and Procedures (code of conduct/confidentiality/conflict of interest/committee attendance/complaints procedures/deed of delegation/ all vital to securing funding, to being taken seriously as an ethical, professional organisation, legally compliant with the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission Regulations (ACNC). Created Occupational Health & Safety procedures including induction processes for new volunteers again, essential for the legality of the organisation. Reviewed and strengthened our Insurance, including Public Liability & accident cover for all volunteers (if they are members!) and contents insurance for the permanent collection. Established Exhibitions and Events application processes Employed an office manager from reserves we had accumulated. This was a risk as we have no funding, but it has given continuity and professionalism to our relationships with hirers, artists and local craft s people. Overhauled the office/sales/invoicing/accounting systems (or rather, created systems!) Established subcommittees with volunteer committee coordinators for: Policies & Procedures / Exhibitions / Events / Operations / Volunteer Coordination / Maintenance / Promotions / Grants etc. Revamped the exhibition spaces to be as aesthetically inspiring as the works they house East Gippsland Art Gallery created our new website and facebook page and generously mentored us on professionalising the gallery. Wrote numerous grant applications (coordinator/office person/infrastructure heating computers etc/ongoing funding) with the support of mentors: Creative Vic exCEO Jane Crawley, consultant Eleni McIlroy, Shire Place Manager for Orbost Kathryn Macdonald and Chartered accountant Liz Fleming Lobbied and developed a strong relationship with Council, also with these peoples support Doubled our Membership to 85 Joined forces with the Slab Hut/info centre to lobby for our Arts and Culture Precinct to be included in Shire s Forest Park redevelopment plan. Survived the chaos of covid
